.:Brown vs. Board of Education Mock Trial:.
After having a lesson and watching a video on the Brown vs. Board of Education, students will reenact the trial. In this mock trial, students will be split up into two groups and asked to come up with an opening and closing argument, as well as a case as both the prosecution and defense. The day of the trial the classroom will be set up as a court room. They will have to research about this particular case and act out the trial. Students will have time in class to work on their projects, as well as homework pertaining to the case.
On May 17, 1954, the United States Supreme Court in Brown vs. Board of Education of Topeka, Kansas, declared that racial segregation in schools was unconstitutional.
