.:Concept Web:.
Here students will discuss and learn about the Civil Rights Movement during the 1950’s, which was a political movement working towards achieving equality among all men. The Civil Rights Movement consisted of many court cases, revisions, and key people. Within this web unit the students will learn about the issues going on at the time which led to such movement. They will also get to learn about important civil rights activists, as well as amendments and court cases formed through this movement. For example, they will know how African Americans were mistreated and the meaning of segregation and the people who tried to do something about it. They will also learn about amendments added to the constitution giving these poor people rights they deserve, as well as courts cases fighting for those same rights. In order to prevent history from repeating itself one must know what happened in our past.
